Privacy Policy

hodgepodge is built by Click Clack Labs LLC (clickclacklabs.com). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. When we say “we,” “us,” or “our,” we mean Click Clack Labs LLC.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information — your email address, username, display name, bio, and avatar photo.
• Your content — tasks, daily photos, thoughts, and comments you create on hodgepodge.
• Friend connections — the people you add as friends on hodgepodge.

Information collected automatically

• Device information — device type, operating system, and app version (used for compatibility and crash diagnostics).
• Push notification tokens — if you opt in to notifications, we store a device token to deliver them.
• Crash and error data — technical diagnostic information collected via Sentry to help us fix bugs. This does not include your personal content.
• Usage analytics — we use Amplitude to understand how people use hodgepodge (for example, which features are popular and general usage patterns). This data is associated with your account but does not include the content of your tasks, photos, or thoughts. You can opt out of analytics in your device settings.

Information we do NOT collect

• We do not track your location.
• We do not use advertising SDKs or show ads.
• We do not sell or share your data with advertisers.
• We do not read your content for ad targeting or profiling.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide and operate the hodgepodge service
• Show your content to your friends (based on your privacy settings)
• Send push notifications you’ve opted into
• Send transactional emails (sign-in codes, account updates)
• Understand how people use hodgepodge so we can improve it
• Fix bugs and improve the app
• Respond to support requests

3. Who can see your content

hodgepodge gives you control over who sees your day. Your feed visibility setting determines who can see your content:

• Friends only (default) — only people you’ve mutually added as friends can see your daily content.
• Public — anyone can see your profile and recent days, including on your public profile page.
• Private — only you can see your content.

Your username and display name are always visible to other hodgepodge users (so people can find and add you as a friend).

4. Third-party services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate hodgepodge:

• Supabase — authentication, database, file storage, and realtime updates. Your data is stored in Supabase-managed PostgreSQL databases and cloud storage. Supabase is SOC 2 Type II compliant.
• Resend — transactional email delivery (sign-in codes). We share your email address with Resend solely for this purpose.
• Expo — push notification delivery and app distribution. We share your device push token with Expo to deliver notifications.
• Sentry — crash reporting and error diagnostics. Sentry receives technical data only (stack traces, device info), not your personal content.
• Amplitude — product analytics. Amplitude receives usage data (feature interactions, screen views) to help us understand how people use hodgepodge. It does not receive the content of your tasks, photos, or thoughts.
• Vercel — hosting for our marketing website and web app.

We do not sell your data to any third party. We do not use any advertising or ad-tracking services.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored on Supabase-managed infrastructure. We use Row-Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure users can only access their own data and data shared with them. Photos are stored in private cloud storage buckets with signed URLs for access control.

We use email-based sign-in codes (no passwords are stored). All data is transmitted over HTTPS.

6. Data retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, tasks, photos, thoughts, and comments. Some data may persist in backups for a short period after deletion (typically up to 30 days).

You can delete individual items (tasks, photos, thoughts) at any time, and they are removed immediately.

7. Children’s privacy

hodgepodge is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has created an account, we will promptly delete it. If you believe a child under 13 is using hodgepodge, please contact us at hello@hodgepodge.club.

8. Your rights and choices

• Access and export — you can view all your data within the app at any time.
• Correction — you can edit your profile, tasks, and thoughts at any time.
• Deletion — you can delete individual items or your entire account from the app settings.
• Notifications — you can manage or disable push notifications in the app or through your device settings.
• Visibility — you can change your feed visibility setting at any time.

9. California residents

If you are a California resident, you have certain rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Specifically, you have the right to request access to, deletion of, and information about the categories of personal information we collect and how it is used. 10. International data transfers

hodgepodge is operated from the United States. If you use hodgepodge from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using hodgepodge, you consent to this transfer.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make meaningful changes, we’ll notify you through the app or by email. Your continued use of hodgepodge after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
